It retains the impressive mid-range and bass response of the original Tone Zone® and features a patented dual-resonance design for rich harmonics. To accommodate its common installation in the slanted Strat® bridge position, it has been engineered to warm up higher frequencies and brighten lower notes. The pickup has 4-conductor wiring for parallel humbucking and split-coil modes, and it pairs well with other DiMarzio pickups like the Pro Track™, The Chopper™, and Fast Track 1™ for a bridge position combination. While the specs of the Tone Zone® and The Tone Zone® S may not match, the focus is on achieving a similar sound rather than exact numerical specifications. The Tone Zone® S is recommended for the bridge position in solid-body guitars, and it can also be used in the neck position when a warm jazz guitar sound is desired.
