Wiring Harness for Tele®

Fourth Position = Humbucker Mode

The Obsidian® Custom 4-Way wiring harness for Telecaster® adds a tasty fourth switch position to make your Tele scream.

Kick your Tele into the fourth position and your old work horse becomes a beast.

The neck and bridge pickups work in series to provide a more powerful humbucker like tone. You can use this position for stronger rhythm and screaming leads.

Your Telecaster will retain all of the traditional switch positions, and the familiar master tone and volume controls. 

Requires Three Wire - Neck Pickup Mod * See Below

1: Neck & Bridge in Series (Humbucking)
2: Neck
3: Neck & Bridge in Parallel (Traditional Tele)
4: Bridge

CRYSTAL CLEAR TONE

To make your tone crystal clear at lower volumes we also include an Obsidian® Custom Spec Treble Bleed Mod. This prevents tone 'muddiness' at low volumes by allowing high frequencies to pass along a separate path to your amp, rather than being stopped short by the increasing resistance at the volume control.

Japanese Fender & Squiers - You will need to purchase a genuine Fender USA control plate and new 1/4" knobs or Obsidian® Control Plate & Knobs 

Note: Aftermarket control plates will NOT fit. We recommend a genuine Fender control plate – Part Number: 099-2058-000 or Obsidian® Control Plate

Use US spec 1/4" Solid shaft controls such as Obsidian®  . We recommend that you check your knobs are the correct size and replace them if necessary.

REQUIRES NECK PICKUP MOD 

- To properly ground your neck pickup you will need to add an additional wire to it. This is an easy mod & we provide the instructions and wire to do the job but it does require a solder joint. Please allow for this when buying this upgrade.
