This Highly Custom Benedetto 16" prototype guitar was made in 1979. It is the first 16" wide, 2 7/8" body depth guitar Bob Made. This design would later become his best selling guitar of all time, The Benedetto Bravo. It is in Excellent condition, has a bit of minor playing rash, the BJB Pickup Plating has worn on the edges.
The appointments and trim are above the Cremona level with the back of headstock hand carving. It originally was fitted with a DeArmond Pickup, I changed the Pickup to a BJB floating a few years later. The instrument is made from very old Gallery Grade Highly Figured European tone woods, The neck is 7 piece construction. The guitar's top is carved thin and X Braced for exceptional acoustic tone. Minus the pickup, everything including Hardshell Case is Original. The guitar has an extremely strong and balanced acoustic voice with GHS Strings 13-56 gauge and a superb amplified tone with Elixir Strings 12-52 gauge. It's very well set up and intonated.
