Here is a beautiful and unusual guitar from Taylor - the Baritone 8. It is based on Taylor's Grand Symphony body style, which is well known for its volume and projection, but with a 27" long scale length. The guitar is tuned B to B, but also works nicely with a capo on the 5th fret to provide standard tuning. The real magic is the additon of two octave strings in the middle, which give it a wonderful shimmer. In classic Taylor fashion, this guitar plays very easily, and the sound is clear and ringing, either acoustically or through the Taylor Expression system (3 magnetic pickups, two attached to the soundboard and one to the fretboard.) There is a solid Sitka Spruce top with an Abalone rosette, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany with Diamond Mother of Pearl fretboard inlays. Neck width at the nut is 1 3/4". The guitar was built in Taylor's El Cajon, CA shop in 2010, with a serial number of 1105120104 It is in near mint shape, with the only imperfection I can find being a pinhead sized ding in the top. It comes in the form fitted Taylor case, which is also in excellent condition.
