Shergold Marathon 6 String Bass 1981 White.
This is a very rare, made in London UK,, vintage six-string bass, Much loved by professional musicians in the 70's and 80's.
We understand they introduced this model in 1979 and made less than 100 of this model. Players speak highly of its neck, which has plenty of space.
Its a well-engineered instrument with Shergold's own design pickup and interesting electronics.
The bridge is fully adjustable with each string individually supported in brass saddles. It appears solid and extensive adjustment is available for both height and length.
The Maple neck has a 49mm Brass top nut and the scale length is 30.5", The frets are nicely polished and in good order. This bass weighs just 9.40 lb.
It's all original with no changed parts that we can see, The condition is very good for the year, with some light chips and dings as one would expect from a used but not abused instrument.
This instrument is not being sold with a case but we can supply one at an extra charge if required.
