Warped Circuits Plancks 2 // micro Mutable Instruments Frames

Plancks 2 by Warped Circuits is a professional micro-build of Frames by Mutable Instruments. featuring a solid aluminum panel with visual design elements inspired by the original module (including illuminated Frame knob!), this is as close as you can get to a Frames in less than half the hp.

Frames by Mutable Instruments is a four-channel mixer/VCA/keyframer module for the Eurorack format. each of its four channels features an input, an output and a knob. there is also an "All" input and accompanying +10V offset switch - this signal (or the +10V, if "All" is unpatched and the switch is activated) is sent to any channel without a signal patched to its input. the knob simply controls the level of the signal on that channel, whether it be from the channel input or the "All" input. the sum of all the channels is produced at the "Mix" output.

the remaining features take Frames beyond normal "mixer" duties and into a whole new realm of modulation. the big (and delightfully glowy) "Frame" knob allows you to set various mixer settings and transition between them according to one of a variety of interpolation curves ranging from instantaneous to smoothed to bouncing ball. simply adjust the four channel knobs however you like, then pick a point on the "Frame" knob's rotation - any point will do - and press the "Add" button to add a keyframe. next, move the "Frame" knob to a new point and press "Add" again - that's your second keyframe. now adjust the four channel knobs to some new settings. after you're finished, turn the "Frame" knob back towards the first keyframe's position on the knob and watch/listen as the signals morph between the two settings. pretty amazing, right? add up to 64 keyframes for maximal mutation potential, then add some modulation at the "Frame" input and watch your composition come to life!
