circa 1922 Gibson TB-1 Natural Banjo, Serial #11124A-39.
Early 1920's Gibson TB-1 trap door banjo. Some pitting to the metal parts but nothing severe. Original hard case included.

Gibson introduced this banjo in 1922 with nickel plating, an ebony fretboard with pearl dots, and a "trap door" resonator to enable increasing or decreasing of the volume. They made this particular build through 1924, and then in 1925 changed to a rosewood fretboard and deleted the resonator, so this particular TB-1 was only produced from 1922-1924.

The coolest thing is that it has the original slanted "The Gibson" logo which changed in the late 1920s. It's hard to find these with the logo still intact/in good shape, and with the original case 'ta boot. Plays well and will make a great addition to the playing collector of these vintage 100-year-old beauties.
