Yamaha G-225 Natural Classical Guitar With Hard Shell Case

Here for sale we have a Yamaha G-225 classical guitar in Natural finish, complete with a hard shell case. Yamaha are well known for the quality of their affordable guitars and this is no exception, it plays and sounds fantastic for the price.

The neck is a fairly chunky 'D' shape, quite typical of a classical guitar and is smooth to navigate with its gloss finish. The neck meets the body at the 13th fret, giving you a full octave of clear access on each string, at which point you would adjust your hand position to play on the upper frets. There are 18 full frets and the 19th is a partial fret, only with access for the first and sixth string, not unusual for a classical guitar.

The guitar projects very well and has a clear tone that is full and warm. It is dynamically sensitive, feeling quite touch responsive. It would be an ideal instrument for either an adult looking to start playing classical guitar or perhaps someone looking for something to diversify their collection of guitars.

Headstock- The headstock has light markings and visible wear to the edges, there is nothing significant to note but it is possible to tell this is not a brand new instrument.

Neck- The neck has visible light indents which does not affect playability and I believe this to be from the finish process rather than playing wear, which is minimal.

Body- The front and rear have visible light scratches and indents which are not independently significant but there is a number of these noticeable. The sides are in good condition with some light markings and a few small finish chips in places. Overall these marks are not immediately noticeable and are noticed when close to the instrument.

Shape and condition is very good

Truss Rod & Bridge- Fully Functional and can be adjusted

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- 4mm bass 3.5mm treble

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

The guitar does not have an adjustable truss rod as common on classical guitars. There is room in the saddle to lower the action to preference by the new owner.

Strings on Guitar- 26 - 44

The guitar is in good condition with visible markings which are visible but do not greatly detract from the instruments aesthetic. The body has various indents and scratches to the finish and some small finish chips to the side. The setup can be adjusted at the saddle and the frets are in good condition offering good sustain and projection. The machine heads show light wear and are fully functional.
