Catalinbread's nod to the Hornsby-Skewes Treble Booster!
The Catalinbread Skewer is based on the Hornsby-Skewes Treble Booster, an iconic piece of the Classic Rock puzzle.
A lesser-known Treble Booster, the Hornsby-Skewes is renowned for the integral part it played in Ritchie Blackmore's 1960s and 1970s tone.
The Horsby-Skewes Treble Booster came stock with a Silicon transistor, giving it a biting sound that cut through even the densest of mixes.
The Skewer stays true to that circuit and lets you dial in the desired frequency range from rich and full to treble-heavy, as well as control the amount of boost.
You can also vary the amount of transistor gain for some extra juice!
Some players had their original Treble Booster modded to play nicer with the rest of their gear.
Catalinbread took the liberty of giving you that mod as well (which is fully adjustable via a trimpot inside).
Further enhancements include a noise reduction filter and anti-pop switch circuitry.
This one bites just a little harder than Catalinbread's beloved Naga Viper, and sounds fantastic with the Dreamcoat!
Catalinbread Skewer Treble Booster features:
• Inspired by the Hornsby-Skewes Treble Booster.
• The Hornsby-Skewes was famously used by Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore.
• Lets you dial in the desired frequency range from rich and full to treble-heavy.
• Internal trimpot lets you dial in the pedal's aggressivity.
• Added noise reduction filter and anti-pop switch circuitry.
• Power: 9V DC.
• Current Draw: 1mA.
• Dimensions: 4.33” X 2.36” X 1.93”.
