About This Listing

Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome.

You are looking at a somewhat rare 1950's era American D6T dynamic omni-directional microphone made in Pasadena, California. This mic is sold with the period cast iron Atlas adjustable desk stand shown.

Pic # 2 is from an old American catalog showing this model, price and characteristics.

This seldom seen microphone was produced as a general purpose mic and recommended for both indoor and outdoor applications. The D6T has a shorter run compared to the far more common D4T microphone and was a bit more expensive. The D6T is about 25% larger than the D4T but still easy to grasp in the hand. The D6T is built like a tank and has some weight to it...impressive really.

The D6T has more of an industrial flair to it and looks like few other models that were made over the years.

As you can see the chrome looks is pretty nice with a minimum of wear and really pops in the light. The front grill shows a bit of tiny pitting but not too bad really. The rear section shows the same wear on the chrome and the luster is pretty nice. There is no missing hardware and the mic is solid inside and out. Sadly the original element no longer works but she'll make a very unique and beautiful display piece anywhere in the home, office or studio.

The joint mechanism works just as it should with plenty of tension and the threading for both the stand and cable is perfect.

These American D6T's rarely come around even on Ebay and are generally in much worse shape. This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand but a period stand is already provided.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE....

The stand is a an older Atlas desk stand from the early 1950's era and perfect for just about any older vintage microphone. The design and paint scheme shows that it's clearly an early generation DS-7 retractable desk stand made in Brooklyn, NY.

The upper chrome stem shows lite wear in the form of fine scratches but no corrosion. The bottom stem shows lite wear as well with very lite scratches. The original Atlas logo is no longer present. There is no discoloration on the grey paint but there are lite rust stains on the bottom of the base. This is a pretty nice older DS-7 overall. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are in excellent condition.

Total length is 12 inches high x 6 inches wide but can be lowered to 8 inches if needed?

Please let the detailed pics be your guide.

The mic with stand is appx 12 1/2 inches tall X 6 inches wide. The two together are a heavier 5 pounds so international shipping will be a bit spendier than normal.

As with all my vintage items...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and item relisted. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
