Vester Tradition Series vintage strat
I think a Fender 1957 copy in design
3-piece solid ash contour body
Rock maple neck with rosewood skunk stripe
Vester stamped Fender style bridge sledge-saddles
Very close to Fender shape head stock
Thick steel trem block
kluson type original vintage tuners
7.25" radius neck, so only light curve which is very comfortable to play.
U.S/CAN/EUR shipping takes 5 working days and I am on target with my deliveries during difficult times.
Please see my feedback for guitars sold, you are in good hands : )
These are late 80s and these are the earlier examples with the Vester stamped saddles - Vester had to later change the shape of their head stocks on these because Fender had an active copyright on the shape.
I like how detailed even the font if on these and the small txt states "original concept body"
I have spent many hours deep cleaning, took it all apart and put back together and had to do some fret work as it had a few sharp and uneven upper frets, which required polishing, bevelling and crowning.
She's playing great now and has a beautiful neck, which I prefer to MIK Squire necks actually.
The pick up s sound great and according to Vester fans that know more about electric guitars sound very 50s and do not need upgrading, so as original this is a great spec strat
People are paying crazy money for MIJ and MIK squires have laminate bodies and lesser hardware so these are a rare and hidden gem and only around 1000 of these were made and the original head stock design models are harder to find. I imagine they had to recall a lot of them as well.
I had to sand out a few neck dimples/dinks but the neck feels beautiful and is a touch satin in places where I have evened out a few dinks this just makes the neck feel faster for me than too much varnish in any case so this is on the road worn, relic side in places.
Fender had a patent on their head stock shape so post-lawsuit era - Vester had to change their head stock type for the Stage Series and even most Tradition Series strats have the newer design head stock so these are uncommon to a degree.
The stage series have cheaper feeling bridges and laminate bodies so this is a different beat all together and has a bit more class.
I have only seen a few others of these over the years.
All original, aside from the back plate, I have just ordered a new basic one to cover the rather nice looking steel block and to tidy up.
I have the original trem arm, will include a fender strap and good quality guitar bag as well.
The set up is great with medium low action (2.3mm at the 12) with scope to go lower without having to adjust the neck angle which is very good.
No buzz when played, beautiful feeling neck, feels nice and light weight because of the solid woods and less meaty than some of the larger fender type head stocks and all the picks up, selection switches and dials work as they should.
I have fully refurnished the guitar however there is a huge finish dink exposing the woods which I have just softened but you could sand blast that out more even or or you could tidy it up of course with a shellac resin type of patch-up.
So expect a few dings around that area and not for condition boffins. I still think for the most part the guitar looks, great, such a beautiful minimal head stock and all around head turner.
*note the is a 1.5" hairline crack at the neck pocket as happens often but is stable and not flaking, could do with a seal if that bothers you
A few scratches at the top but nothing major there. the neck looks great with no damage, just a few ghosts of dings that has been sanded to light satin, the fret board is beautiful and near perfect, what looks like damage if just nature, grain swirl in the rock maple.
Frets are looking very nice and have all been polished, no sharp frets and are all looking great, there are a few dimples but no dead spots to play to the guitar is set-up to a high standard and many hour spent fully evaluating and testing.
