Ultra-Rare Yellow Steinberger GL4T TransTrem Guitar - Restored by Jeff Babicz! - HeadlessUSA

Yes, being the world's HeadlessUSA specialists on Steinberger guitars, we've had quite the number of original custom color models pass through our doors over the years. We've had multiple red, white, and blue examples, but this is the first time that we've ever offered a yellow GL4T. The "back-story" that we obtained from a former factory employee is that this guitar was manufactured for Sid McGinnis, who was the guitarist for the David Letterman show. The "reason" that Sid declined owning it seems to have been that it wasn't the proper shade of yellow that he had had in mind. The guitar was instead shipped to a "notorious" dealer in Danbury, CT, where it was sold to a young lady who has owned it from new. A true one-owner guitar! Thankfully, she took impeccable care of it and it's still in mint, brand-new condition. It was just gone over by Jeff Babicz, so it performs (and looks) perfect. Jeff cleaned the electronics and rebuilt the original TransTrem with new bearings and spring and also burnished the roller saddles, so it now transposes correctly and returns to zero accurately.

This guitar will most certainly be the centerpiece of any Steinberger fans dream collection. Arguably the rarest and certainly the mintest example that we've ever seen. This premium model features the one piece neck-thru-body carbon-graphite construction and is impervious to changes in temperature and humidity. The 3 pushbutton pickup selector allows for any combination of the three active EMG pickups to be enabled. Now fully restored, this incredible guitar should need no further attention for the next 25 or more years.

This Steinberger GL4T guitar will ship in a new HUSA hard-shell case, along with its original black Steinberger logo gig-bag, its correct Trans-Trem arm, a new black cotton strap, an extra set of strings, and a copy of Jeff's work-order.
