O.J. Rhodes, better known as Red Rhode, was a session peel steel player in the 60’s to 80,s who in the 70’s turned to building pickups. He built for the likes of James Berton, Clarence White, Joan Jett and employed guys like David Schecter, Bill Chapin and Michael Tobias.
I have a model #54 humbucker with a resistance of 19.5 so really “Hot”.
It has had the top painted black. I guess to match the guitar!!??
