This listing is for a 1971 Olds Studio professional trumpet with a first valve tuning slide thumb trigger in near-mint condition and original case (see photos).  Being that it is 50+ years old, it is extremely rare to find an Olds professional trumpet and case that are both in such excellent condition (please zoom in on the photos).

As an added bonus, the leadpipe was professionally upgraded and lacquered by Brass Instrument Workshop to a sterling silver (100% silver) leadpipe from KGU Music.  All of the other components are original (with original lacquer) and show no signs of damage or repairs.  Thus, the component materials of this trumpet are as follows:

* Leadpipe is now sterling silver

* Bell is nickel-silver (cupro-nickel alloy)

* All outer slide tubes, braces, and ferrules are nickel-silver

* Inner slide tubes are raw brass

* The remainder of the trumpet components are nickel plated brass

This beautiful trumpet is 100% lacquered, which is rare for a 50-year-old Olds trumpet, and sounds amazing!  The lightning fast valves have excellent compression and function perfectly!

Those familiar with Olds trumpets already know that they are among the best built trumpets of all time.  F.E. Olds & Son was one of the best trumpet brands, and many trumpet enthusiasts prefer Olds trumpets over the other popular brands of the 20th century.

With proper care and maintenance, which includes applying valve oil and slide lube on a regular basis, this trumpet will continue to look and sound amazing for many more years to come!  I recommend using valve oil every time it is played to insure continued longevity and optimal performance.

I am Joe Bolton (trumpet.gallery). I personally tested, cleaned and lubricated this instrument.  I hereby certify that it is fully functional and is all ready to play.  Since trumpet mouthpieces are available in such a broad range of various sizes and shapes, a mouthpiece is not included with this listing.  A mouthpiece of the make and model that is preferred by the trumpeter is to be purchased separately.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
