Epiphone 1968 FT-79 Texan in Cherry Red.
Cherry Red was produced for only three years, 1967 to 1969, a color that also existed only briefly at Gibson in the same period. Unlike today's uniform finishes, it fades differently on each guitar, showing the time this instrument has lived through.
With a longer scale than the J-45, the FT-79 offers a tense, responsive feel and long sustain, and this example adds a driving quality, with the whole body resonating and pushing air. Even a light strum projects forward without choking, with a fine balance of chord separation and cohesion: a convincing, genuinely vintage sound developed over years of playing.

A great-looking, well-played guitar. Highly recommended for anyone considering a J-45 or J-50 with an adjustable saddle. We can confidently recommend both its playability and its sound.

- Playing wear including pick scratches and buckle rash. Trace of a peeled "E" logo on the pickguard.
- Saddle (cocobolo) and nut replaced after arrival at our store.
- Center seam crack glued and reinforced.
[Playing Condition]
Action at the 12th fret: 2.2mm low E side, 2.0mm high E side. No buzzing, choking, or other playing issues.
