Vintage Late 1970s/Early 1980s Barcus-Berry Violectra 5-String Electric Violin – Serial #2546, Made in USA
I have a rare, vintage Barcus-Berry Violectra 5-string electric violin in a beautiful translucent reddish finish for sale. This is a genuine 1970s/1980s USA-made model with the original internal paper label stamped with serial number 2546. As a 5-string model, it includes the low C string, bridging the gap between violin and viola ranges.
- Electronics are 100% functional. The built-in Barcus-Berry pickup system works perfectly when plugged into an amplifier. This can be confirmed with videos or a video call.
- The reddish finish is in great shape for its age, although it is in "player grade" shape, showing signs of use, as the previous owner used this violin semi-professionally. There are no structural cracks or damage to the wood.
- The neck is straight, the pegs hold tune nicely, and it plays very well across all 5 strings.
- Comes with the original road/flight case
