2019 PRS McCarty 594 Single-Cut Electric Guitar with a Black Gold Burst 10 Top Finish!

General Description BELOW for full detail. Summary is - I am fortnuate enough to have too many guitars and need to sell one. I'm offering up a few of my guitars for sale and whichever sells first will go. The others will come down off of Reverb.com.

My history with this guitar - Purchased from Danville Music in June 2020, an awesome store. It was a rep sample originally. And as such has some minor scratches. I have played it a lot but, 99% of the time simply on my couch with a few gig nights over the years. There is some interesting lore around this guitar. The pickups in this guitar, the 58/15 LT+ were pickups sent to John Mayer to try the new TCI-tuned version of the pickups, then later installed on this guitar.

Pics attempt to show the exact scratches and dings, three to be exact. One on the back of the headstock above the "10" in 10 top... the other two minor on the body. Additional pictures are of the original listing from Danville Music include their original write up about the pickups going to John Mayer for test purposes.

Price is somewhat negotiable - I'm sure some crazy folk will throw all sorts of random ridiculous offers. I'll listen but mainly for entertainment purposes. I set the shipping as $50 flat rate but if you live far away or outside the US, message me, I'll work something out. Original Hardshell Case comes included.

General Description

The McCarty 594 10-Top bottles the perfect representation of Paul Reed Smith’s 6-string philosophy: take all the best bits of golden-age guitar design, apply a lifetime’s worth of research and innovation, and then wrap it up with the world’s finest tonewoods. This guitar’s maple-capped mahogany body is a potent tonewood pairing that provides a tone that’s warm, punchy, and defined all at once. Two 58/15 LT pickups deliver a unique tone that captures the magic of a late-’50s humbucking pickup, then crank up the clarity to an almost single-coil level of definition. Finally, even the neck follows the vintage-meets-modern formula, with a stout piece of mahogany carved into a chunky asymmetrical Pattern Vintage profile and topped with a versatile 10-inch radius rosewood fingerboard. It all adds up to a world-class 6-string that’s sure to please vintage fanatics, performance-demanding modern players, and everyone else in between.

This guitar’s Pattern Vintage profile clocks in on the chunkier side of the spectrum, featuring a distinct asymmetrical profile that conforms to your grip from the base all the way to the neck joint. While it’s a thicker shape, it’s by no means clunky — guitarists across all styles have come to favor the Pattern Vintage profile for its comfortably full feel. Combined with the McCarty Single-cut 594 10-Top’s slightly shorter 24.594-inch scale length, this guitar brandishes a decidedly old-school flavor that’s all but guaranteed to resonate with vintage 6-string enthusiasts.

Rooted in the past with an eye toward the future, PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers perfectly capture the dual-coil magic of a late-’50s humbucker, then enhance it with all the benefits of modern construction. The result? A pickup with focused mids, balanced lows and highs, and unmatched clarity. In a nutshell, it’s a sound that’s equal parts classic humbucker warmth and stunning single-coil snap. What’s more, this iteration of the 58/15 sports an LT (low turn) wind for a slightly more vintage feel than the standard version, lowering the output to provide an open and resonant tone.

Paul Reed Smith’s guitar building, the company had a reputation for the sheer quality of figuring on their maple tops, with dazzling lines and grain patterns that make any plain top pale in comparison. Naturally, customers began to call in and request that their instruments be built with “a nice-looking top” — far too vague a term for the tonewood scientists in Stevensville, Maryland. Thus, the 10-Top designation was born: a lofty status that requires a “clearly defined figure across the entire top,” leaving no doubt that the guitar will arrive capped with a superlative piece of timber. This guitar is in great shape with hardware tarnish, several minor indents and marks and a tiny touch-up on the back, rated at 8.5/10. All original with upgraded strap buttons and free of any breaks, cracks or repairs. Included with this guitar is an original hard-shell case.
