The Les Paul Standard '60s is Gibson's tribute to the slim, fast, and tonally articulate version of the Les Paul that emerged in the final years of the original run — the late 1950s and early 1960s instruments that defined rock and roll guitar tone for generations and continue to command extraordinary prices on the vintage market. The '60s designation is specific and meaningful: the SlimTaper neck profile is noticeably faster and more modern-feeling than the rounded '50s profile, making it the choice for players who want the Les Paul's fundamental voice without the substantial neck that comes with the earlier specification.
