If you want a classic Tube Screamer or OCD drive style, this one isn’t for you. If you want something a little outside of the box, give this one a shot!
The Broadblast is a transformer coupled, discrete Class-A germanium pre-amplifier based on the classic broadcast consoles of the 1960s. On low gain mode (left footswitch), this pedal can cover from sparkling clean boost to mild overdrive. When you turn up the gain, the transfo starts to saturate and gives great dynamic compression and thickens the mids. By activating the high gain mode (right footswitch), the pedal deliver heavier distorted raw tone with fuzzy edge. You can adjust the amount of gain for each channel. Thanks to the 2 internal trimmers. This pedal responding well to pick attack and have a lot of output. Cutting through the mix is not a problem with this special beast! You need standard 9v negative center power supply (as Boss pedals). Don’t connect it to a higher voltage. The toggle switch allows you to be at 9v (left) to 27v (right) via an internal charge pump for more headroom, clarity and output level.
