Sony Microcassette-corder M-647V 1980s/90s - Grey

Feel free to make an offer, im not proud of listing something like this for quite this much but it's truly a great example of why analog stuff is going up in covetability and just as useful and fun as anything can be. The microphone picks up a room with beautiful crunch and the speed cuts any beat you throw at it IN HALF the BPM and down a nice octave (2.4cm > 1.2 cm ) or vice versa. Not only that but the fast playback switch will speed up your mix about 35/40 percent of the BPM/pitch/ whatever. So lots of versatility for a pocket recorder, the battery light tends to stay on even with new ones in my experience but it's fully functional. Slight wow and flutter if the batteries are going out, also if you toy with it and hold down on the play button or barely fiddle with the pause button, always nice to hear that authentic tape swoosh.

Check out reverbs article on DIY tape delays; this might not do the same as a reel to reel but it's not far; and pro tip- everything can be thrown in a feedback loop ;)
