The Martin OM-35 Inception Walnut represents a bold new chapter in Martin’s legendary acoustic guitar legacy, blending forward-thinking sustainability with the timeless craftsmanship players have trusted for generations. Built as part of Martin’s innovative Inception Series, this Orchestra Model explores how responsibly sourced domestic tonewoods can create entirely new tonal possibilities without sacrificing the richness, responsiveness, and musicality expected from a premium Martin acoustic. Every detail of this guitar reflects thoughtful design, from its striking black walnut construction to the visually stunning flamed American white oak center wedge that gives the instrument its unmistakable character.
At the heart of the OM-35 Inception Walnut is a carefully engineered tonewood recipe designed to unlock exceptional balance and nuance. The FSC-certified European spruce top delivers articulate clarity and wide dynamic range, while the black walnut back and sides contribute warmth, focused mids, and controlled low-end response. Martin’s Skeletonized Golden Era scalloped X-bracing was specifically developed to complement these woods, reducing overall mass to increase sustain, responsiveness, and tonal openness. The result is an OM-sized acoustic that feels alive beneath the fingers: Responsive to a light touch yet powerful enough to fill a room with rich, detailed projection. The Dark Toasted Burst finish and flamed white oak appointments add an elegant visual sophistication that perfectly matches the guitar’s refined voice.
The OM body shape has long been favored by fingerstyle players, singer-songwriters, and recording artists for its balance, comfort, and articulate tonal character, and the OM-35 Inception Walnut continues that tradition beautifully. Whether used for intricate fingerpicking, dynamic strumming, alternate tunings, or studio recording, this guitar offers remarkable note separation, sparkling highs, warm mids, and smooth sustain. The GE Modified Low Oval neck profile provides modern comfort while maintaining a classic Martin feel, making long sessions effortless and inspiring. Complete with a molded hardshell case, the Martin OM-35 Inception Walnut stands as a stunning example of how heritage craftsmanship and modern innovation can coexist in one extraordinary acoustic instrument; available now at Haggerty’s Music.
