About this listing
Here is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Steve Vai's iconic early-run signature guitars — a 1990 Ibanez JEM777VBK, Japanese-built during the golden era of FujiGen craftsmanship. The JEM777VBK was produced from 1988 to 1992, making surviving examples over 35 years old. The "V" series — identified by its rosewood fretboard and flowing vine inlay — These guitars have never been reissued the Ibanez catalogue and come to market only rarely. This is a player's vintage instrument with genuine history. Condition This guitar was gigged regularly and wears its history with pride. There are typical play-wear marks consistent with the age and use, a few patched paint chips and finish checking, scuffs on the headstock and a minor repair on the tip of the headstock (cosmetic only — no structural issues whatsoever), and the neck joint is solid. The frets were professionally refretted approximately 10 years ago using Jim Dunlop 6100 jumbo wire, matching the original factory specification - action is low and fast. Since the refret the guitar has seen minimal us - fret life remains excellent — you're essentially getting near new frets on a vintage instrument.
