About this listing
Here's a 2019 G&L Fallout Tribute in Sonic blue. It has been PLEK'd and setup by Strange Guitarworks (see notes card in images), one of the South's premier guitar workshops.Has never been gigged or left my smoke-free, climate controlled home. The guitar is in great shape, very minimal fret wear (if any!!). See photos. The modifications I have made are purely cosmetic and are all reversible: the metal p90 cover, humbucker window cover, metal humbucker surround and knobs are all easily swappable with the original parts, which are included. One exception: I did replace the selector switch tip with a chrome one, and it seems stuck. I don't have the original tip. But I think that's pretty minor.I also took a 3M green pad and with great care lightly scuffed the rear of the neck, so it now has a silky-smooth satin feel to it. I greatly prefer it to the original gloss, but this can easily be buffed out and the original gloss on the neck can be returned to as-new.The guitar has a single blemish -- very small finish crack on treble side of the neck. Not a big deal. Otherwise in outstanding shape. This 2019 Fallout was made before G&L instituted some cost cutting measures after the pandemic. It was made in Indonesia by Cort, and Fallouts from this time (when I bought it in November 2019) feature:USA made, Paul Gauguin-designed pickupsMahogany bodyUSA-made saddle-lock bridge (excellent sustain on this puppy!)Inspection and setup at G&L in Fullerton, CA before dispatch to stores.Later Fallouts used Cort-made pickups and poplar bodies. The pickups are excellent, especially the p90. The humbucker is splittable which give the guitar 5 truly distinctive tones. And it's not a little difference, they're all pretty different. Which is awesome! If you look at the Reddit G&L forum there are a few players who swap these pickups out but then return it to stock -- that's how good they are.Guitar is just under 7lbs. The guitar is setup for and will come strung with 9's, you can probably throw 10's on it without any changes to the nut. Very low action. Neck has a 12" radius, medium jumbo frets (though they definitely feel closer to the "jumbo" end of the spectrum). I find the neck pretty chunky (in a great way), it was labeled as a C but it feels similar to my Squier Mascis jazzmaster. So if you're looking for a thin, shreddy neck -- this is not it. Why would I sell such an awesome guitar? Mainly because i'm a jazzmaster man and I just need a good trem. Missing a trem means I don't play it much, so if you don't need one, it's a pretty fantastic guitar. Will ship with Reverb insurance and signature will be required. Please note: I will ship ONLY WITH UPS -- I will not use FedEx.
