Beautiful Collings CJ35, serial number 223228, in excellent condition with very light play over the years so very light fret wear and no finish issues outside or normal swirls. This guitar has what you want in the CJ35: the familiar power and warmth of a slope-shoulder dreadnought with the precision, clarity, and build quality Collings is known for. Probably produced in 2013.The CJ35 is Collings’ vintage-inspired interpretation of the classic mahogany slope-shoulder design. Compared with the standard CJ, the CJ35 uses Honduran mahogany back and sides, a shorter 24 7/8" scale, a Wenge fingerboard and straight bridge, and non-scalloped X-bracing with three tone bars. Those construction choices give the model its distinctive voice—strong fundamental notes, controlled bass, excellent note separation, and a dry, direct response that works particularly well for rhythm playing, flatpicking, blues, Americana, country, and singer-songwriter accompaniment. The shorter scale gives the guitar a slightly softer feel under the fingers while retaining plenty of power and projection. The mahogany body keeps the low end focused rather than overly boomy, making the CJ35 exceptionally responsive to changes in pick attack and right-hand dynamics. This CJ35 is well balanced and has all the warm, woody character you would expect from a great mahogany slope-shoulder guitar, but also has the definition and consistency that make individual notes remain clear even when the guitar is played hard.A superb choice for someone looking for a high-end slope-shoulder dreadnought with a strong fundamental, quick response, excellent projection, and a distinctly vintage-inspired voice.SpecificationsModel: Collings CJ35Serial Number: 223228Body Style: Slope-shoulder dreadnoughtTop: Sitka spruceBack & Sides: Honduran mahoganyNeck: Honduran mahoganyFingerboard: WengeBridge: Wenge straight bridgeScale Length: 24 7/8"Bracing: Non-scalloped X-bracing with three tone barsBody Binding: Non-grained ivoroidFinish: High-gloss nitrocellulose lacquerVintage-inspired CJ35 constructionOriginal TKL case in excellent condition The CJ35 occupies a distinctive place in the Collings acoustic lineup: warmer and more fundamental-focused than the standard rosewood CJ, with the dry, direct character many players associate with great vintage mahogany slope-shoulder guitars.Serial #223228.
