A few years ago, our pals at Fuzzrocious released a limited edition fuzz pedal exclusively on Reverb, called the 420 Fuzz. It featured dual fuzz circuits that sounded unique and full on their own or super thick and gritty when dimed together (as you can hear in Joe Shadid's demo here.)

The 420 Fuzz sold out quickly and was a big hit—big enough for Fuzzrocious to come back with a V2 version for 2020, now available in a range of brand-new vibrant colorways based on where you buy it.

Like the first iteration of the 420 Fuzz, the V2 version features the same EL5420csz quad op-amp with dual fuzz circuits that are both independently mighty and an all-out wall of sound when blended via the "hybrid" control. The first fuzz circuit is a high-sustain fuzz with a tone stack that growls heavily in the lows and lower-mids, while the second circuit is more of a mid-scooped and heavy gated fuzz with a lot of flexibility.

The V2 also adds a few new features: A clean blend lets you flip the script and mellow the harsh, if you will, and a 9V/18V toggle that will add headroom in the 18V position, to bring less compression and more clarity to your signal.

Hear the original 420 Fuzz in action in our 2018 video.

And as for the colorways, we here at Reverb are pretty partial to our most excellent and exclusive neon green variant, which harkens back to the OG unit that started it all. But Fuzzrocious expanded its palette considerably for this release, adding options like black sparkle, hot pink, and orange, which are all exclusive to the shops and dealers selling them.

We're not sure how many of these variations (other than our neon green exclusive) will end up on Reverb down the line, but you can find many of the different colorways we currently have so far on Reverb right here. For a full list of the options, check out the gallery below.
