Orange Amps announced today the launch of the OMEC Teleport—a full-fledged audio interface in a small pedal format. This device allows you to send audio from your signal to your computer or mobile device via a USB port, as well as the reverse—taking audio from your chosen music software and playing it through your pedal chain.
The possible applications for this unit are extremely open-ended. Most obviously, you could use the OMEC to record a live set or practice session direct from your board. Placing it at the beginning or end of your signal chain, you could capture a dry, pre-effect signal or your fully effected sound.
Going the other direction, the OMEC could be used to bring in samples or pre-recorded parts from a DAW or USB-connected audio device that would then play through your guitar rig. The OMEC is pre-configured to run at proper Line and Instrument levels depending on the application, which makes all these sorts of deployments relatively straightforward. And the addition of stereo outputs makes things even more flexible.
All and all, the OMEC Teleport is a simple yet extremely versatile little gadget that will undoubtedly find all sorts of utility on the boards of today's hybrid guitar player. Click here to buy yours on Reverb now.
