Up for grabs is a mint condition Flea 49 tube large diaphragm condenser microphone, with Pelican case. This mic was purchased specifically for the production of Lord Huron’s “Long Lost” LP in 2020. Longtime Lord Huron collaborator, engineer and producer Ben Tolliday, had spotted a similar ‘Flea 49 Next’ in Nick Cave’s “Live at Alexandra Palace” video and immediately ordered one to use on “Long Lost”. It became one of the main vocal mics for Ben Schneider’s lead and background vocals throughout the album, and for August (née Allison) Ponthier’s gorgeous vocals on “I Lied”. Lord Huron also used the mic extensively in its “Alive from Whispering Pines” series, as well as their “Music Box #55” live session for The Independent UK.
