1981 Schecter T-style HH Dream Machine Vintage Guitar w/ Z Plus SuperRock Humbuckers, Case

Up for sale, a 1981 Schecter "Dream Machine" T-style HH model in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. Made in Los Angeles, CA, Schecter guitars wear their West Coast heritage on their sleeve, and this particularly rare model splits the difference between George Harrison and Pete Townshend, with a deeply figured flame maple neck and solid imbuia body loaded with a hot pair of humbuckers. Imbuia is a rare exotic hardwood from Brazil, delivering a focused, bright tone and clear midrange character. This Schecter weighs 10lbs 1oz, balancing well on a strap.

The pair of Z Plus SuperRock humbuckers are a rare set, very hotly wound and paired with a modern harness that offers the same push/pull coil tap functionality for each humbucker as the original Allen Bradley Omni pots (full original harness also included). Metering at 13k ohms, the bridge pickup is punchy and clear with the inherent aggressive cut of the ceramic magnet design, and the neck pickup is robust and round, with plenty of power and presence. This Schecter Tele benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss finish highlights the unique and varied grain of the Brazilian imbuia with a few areas of broad checking, largely on the back. There is additional minor finish loss along the back body edge, buckle rash concentrated on the bass side of the back, and various dings and finish scratches consistent with use. The smooth gloss on the neck profile shows minimal wear, with a few finish chips beneath the logo on the headstock face, and lightly rolled fretboard edges with palm wear down to the bare maple.
