Here's a sweet set of Ludwig Classic Maples finished in a faithful reissue of Citrus Mod wrap! Short stack 12x18" bass drum with 8x12" and 14x14" toms makes this a great "New Yorker" variant of a Jazzette outfit. The 2" shallower-from-standard bass drum gives it great punch with a slightly shorter sustain - extra responsive. Note about the 12x18" bass drum: This drum dates from 2024 and is a briefly-used store demo single with a smooth white Ambassador with 70's logo head on its resonant side in lieu of the stock smooth white PS3 script logo. Like-new condition excepting a tiny pedal imprint on the batter side bass drum hoop. The toms arrived mid July 2026. We brought the bass drum back out to have this set up on our store room floor, so they'll have a few marks in their batter side clear stock heads. Add $275 to have a 4 hole rail consolette installed with a direct to shell classic bracket or rim mount on the 8x12"!
Steve's demo of a 2021 Jazzette in Citrus Mod is attached to this listing. Here are Steve's notes from the same year!: I'm a huge fan of Ludwig as you probably know. I'm also a fan of fine vintage drums and the great finishes that were available. and Ludwig had the very cool Psychedelic Red and Mod Orange finishes that debuted in the 60s. There was also Citrus Mod, which didn't come into the picture until the very late 60s and was only around for a short time. By the time Citrus Mod came out, these "psychedelic" finishes were starting to become less popular. Citrus mod is, as a result, extremely rare and is the rarest of any of these three finishes by far. Additionally, all three of these multi-color finishes had a tendency to fade, with certain of the colors fading more than others. For this re-issue of Citrus Mod Ludwig spent a ton of time and energy reproducing this finish accurately, and they nailed it. I have had a few excellent original Citrus Mod drums in my day, and I can safely say that this reissue captures it perfectly. The first reissue production kit was a 12/14/18 Classic Maple which is seen in my video for this series. I am keeping that kit and installed one of my rail consolettes and cymbal L arm just to capture even more of the vintage vibe. Not only do you get a cool retro finish that has been superbly crafted, you also get to choose between Classic Maple, Legacy Maple and Legacy Mahogany since the finish is available for all three series. We've already got Classic Maple in stock and more incoming, and we can order anything you want. Don't miss this one! - Steve
