The SR5500 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2025. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.

The SR5500 features an ovangkol top on a double-cutaway African mahogany body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple and walnut neck with a matching headstock overlay and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl abalone oval position markers and Luminlay side dots. Components include individually mounted Mono-rail bridges with 19mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ XL nut, and Gotoh tuning machines. The hardware is gold. Electronics consist of a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with wood covers channeled through an Ibanez Sonitech Preamp with bypassable 3-band active EQ and Hexa Mid 6-way mid-frequency crossover selector.

The SR5505 and SR5506 are five string and six string versions, respectively.

This circuit offers two selectable 3-band mid-range banks and a passive tone control for unparalleled versatility. Crafted in Japan with premium components, this preamp is designed to deliver maximum flexibility and ease of use.
The EQ bypass switch (push/pull) switches between EQ bypass (Pull) or EQ on (Push).

MR5S bridge

The MR5S bridge has adjustable saddles for variable string spacing by +/ 1.5mm, answering every bassist's specific string spacing needs.

3-way Mid frequency switch w/Hexa Mid system

The Hexa Mid system offers players the flexibility to choose from two mid-range banks, each containing three distinct frequency points, for a total of six. Its exceptional versatility and user-friendly interface help players achieve their ideal bass sound.

When holding the bass in the playing position, the Hexa Mid System switch is located on the control cavity cover on the back of the bass. Setting the switch to the up position activates the "H" or high bank, while the down position selects the "L" or low bank. The mini switch on the front of the body is a 3-way mid frequency selector. When the Hexa Mid System is set to the H bank, the mid boost peak is at 350Hz in the neck position, 600Hz in the center position, and 1kHz in the bridge position. In the L bank, the mid boost peak is at 250Hz in the neck position, 450Hz in the center position, and 850Hz in the bridge position. Two knobs are located near the mini-switch towards the neck. The knob closest to the mini toggle switch is the blend knob, and the knob towards the neck is the volume knob. Along the lower edge of the body, four knobs control the treble boost/cut, mid boost/cut, bass boost/cut, and master passive tone. A push/pull EQ bypass switch is incorporated into the master tone knob. When the master tone knob is pulled up, the EQ bypass is activated.

Luminlay side dots

The Luminlay side dot position marks make it easy for players to see fretboard position marks when performing on dark stages.
