Almost every guitar I look at says that the guitar is fantastic and they hate to part with it – my story is simply this – I play in church and also have a 345 that I'm very sentimental about and one of them had to go as I'm downsizing my whole house with the kids moving out, etc. – so I've decided to sell the 335
I truly enjoy playing the guitar at church and can go straight into the system and it still sounds beautiful – it has the patented sticker pickups which I believe if I opened up would be the t-top version at this point in 1968
PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICS - I took lots of pictures so you can get an idea of how great a shape the guitar is in - to me, the guitar is an incredible condition and not banged up at all – there's a few little tiny chips on the front, but you can barely see them once you're 5 feet away – and there's a little ding on the back of the neck
The guitar has been completely set up and gone through by Joe Riggio at Riggio Custom Guitars – he's an expert in vintage guitars and has authenticated the guitar as a 1968 with a few player grade changes as follows.
The trapeze was taken off and replaced with a Bigsby for a season of life at some point (please see the pictures of the end of the guitar for the multiple screw holes from the trapezes and the Bigsby) – but then after that, a stop tail was installed and done very well – the guitar is extremely stable and stays in tune and sounds great
If you notice from the extensive pictures, there was a bushing installed into the body for a Nashville bridge but has since been changed to the more vintage correct - also, much more resident and intonation friendly metal bridge saddles have been installed
I'm not sure about the tailpiece if it is vintage or later more recent version
Also, comes with aftermarket 2000s Gibson Memphis 335 case
I wanted to list the issues to start – put this guitar is everything you want a 335 to be and on top of that the previous owner before me had it since 1971 – very well taken care of and not gigged
To me, there's plenty of frets left for what I do – but I want the next owner to understand that they might want to have a refret done – but that's completely to taste.
Please notice there's also a little ding on the back of the neck
This guitar would literally be the perfect vintage guitar to take on the road for a professional player because it's ready to go and sounds amazing (and it has the block inlays which looks like the Clapton version from 1964 but much cheaper - ha ha)
Anyway, no hesitation in selling this because I'm completely happy with it, but I just can't have two and had to make a choice – if someone was serious about it I'd be willing to give my phone number through the messages and be glad to answer any and all questions you might have
