First introduced in 1961, the Epiphone Casino became world famous after John Lennon and George Harrison used this instrument as their main guitar during the recording sessions for the legendary Revolver album. With its characteristically dynamic, warm sound, the Epiphone Casino is a fixture in the history of rock music, and this 1965 Epiphone Elite reissue model, made in Japan, combines all the details that have made this hollowbody electric guitar so famous.

The guitar comes from the venerable Terada factory in Japan and combines extremely precise workmanship—typical of Japan—with an incredible attention to detail. The Epiphone Elite Casino features a mahogany neck glued deep into the hollowbody, which gives the guitar excellent sustain and, in particular, high stability. The hollow maple body produces an exceptionally voluminous sound even when unamplified, and a rather slim Slim Taper “D” neck profile, together with the cream-colored binding on the rosewood fingerboard and the 42.6mm wide bone nut, ensures excellent playability. Weighing less than 3kg, the instrument is also very easy to handle.

But once you plug the guitar into an amp, you'll need a moment to recover from the sheer power of its wiry, punchy midrange sound. Perfect for classic vintage rock, rockabilly, and blues sounds, as well as funk and even jazz. The characteristic mid-range dynamic sound is very versatile and makes the guitar an absolute all-rounder.

Visually, the guitar impresses with a simple, timeless look, in which the beautifully grained tonewoods are shown to their best advantage under a thin vintage sunburst high-gloss finish and are complemented aesthetically by the shiny nickel hardware and the white pickguard with the prominent Epiphone logo.

In short, this is an outstandingly crafted hollowbody guitar at Custom Shop level, combining perfection in sound, playability, and appearance!
