Martin / 2021 HD12-28

This is a 12-string version of the HD-28, featuring herringbone trim.

The D12-28 was introduced in 1972, and the 12-string sound played by Glenn Frey of the Eagles on "Hotel California" later had a significant influence on many artists and acoustic guitar players.

—12-String Style for a Chorus-like Sound
The string arrangement, combining octaves and unison, creates a brilliant, chorus-like sound.
This tone can only be experienced with a 12-string guitar!

—Dedicated Head Shape
While a 6-string head is approximately 16cm long, this model is approximately 19.5cm long (3.5cm longer) to accommodate the 12 tuning pegs.
Also, the head thickness is approximately 1.5cm on this model, compared to approximately 1.4cm on the HD-28.

—12-string style fingerboard
The ebony fingerboard features square diamond inlays, giving it the look and feel of a pre-war instrument.

The nut width is a wide 46mm, allowing for smooth fingering.

Herringbone Trim Top Wood
The 16-inch body top is made of spruce and features white binding and herringbone trim.
The rosette is decorated with multi-stripe lines.

Side/Back
Made from quarter-sawn Indian rosewood, the center strip features a zigzag pattern.

Combined with the top decoration, it evokes the look of the golden age.

Bridge
The ebony downbelly bridge is fitted with a short saddle and has white bridge pins mounted on the top and bottom. The bridge plate is wider to withstand the tension of 12 strings.

Neck
Features a neck made of select hardwood and a soft V-shape.

The thin shape provides a comfortable grip.

-Tuning Machine
Equipped with Schaller M6 tuners, each independently controlled for each string.

The sparkling, luxurious tone combined with the deep tone of rosewood creates an incredibly pleasant sound! It's a unique sound that you absolutely cannot experience with a 6-string guitar.

-There is a crack repair in the center of the top, but it has been patched, so its strength is assured.

[Playing Condition]
-String height at 12th fret: 2.5mm on the 6th string side, 2.0mm on the 1st string side
-Saddle protrusion: Approximately 2.5mm to 3.0mm
-There are no buzzing or dead notes, and the playing condition is good.
