This Alembic F-1X is a legendary 1U tube bass preamp, hand-built with the precision and tone shaping that’s made it a studio and touring favorite for decades. Based on the classic Fender blackface tone stack, the F-1X delivers rich tube warmth through a 12AX7 stage, paired with a straightforward but powerful EQ section featuring bass, mid, and treble controls. The bright and deep switches offer fast tonal shaping, while the presence of a front-panel XLR balanced output gives it direct-to-board flexibility in any live or studio setup. Your crossover settings are also easily tweakable on the front panel, giving you the ability to shape the units output to best match your amp setup.

Around back, you’ve got full-range and bi-amp outputs via Alembic’s onboard active crossover network, with dedicated low and high outputs and a trim control to fine-tune your top-end response. There’s also an effects loop that lets you insert your favorite processors right into the signal path after the EQ and tube stage. This unit runs on standard 117V AC power and is designed for clean, quiet performance with zero fuss.

This F-1X is in great working condition and has been fully tested, with issues addressed as needed. The pots and jacks have been cleaned for crackle-free operation. Cosmetically, it shows some honest rack wear, but nothing that affects its functionality. The front panel, knobs, and switches are clean and intact, and the unit performs beautifully with zero hum or signal issues.
