Thank you for considering Il Cannone Violins.
This gorgeous instrument has a robust tone displaying depth and maturity and is suitable for players of all calibers it is amongst the best sounding instrument we have in stock. It's set up with Larsen's "Il Cannone Soloist Warm and Broad A' with a loop 'e' Hill tuner and rubber protector to prolong the life of the strings. These are the best for projection depth ad suit well on any instrument. They last longer if properly maintained and lubricated on the contact points (nut and bridge) The violin will be shipped with strings up and padded as to not affect the tone in case the soundpost were to fall in shipping if the strings are not properly in place.
The top is a fine to medium grained spruce which is exceptionally bookmatched. All corners front and back are in tact and display well set purffling with deep channels and a attractive 'f' holes and fluting. The bridge is newly and meticulously cut and is a French Aubert bridge suitable for the finest instruments.
Back is a two piece slab of quarter cut maple with wide figure and the sides, neck and boldly masculinely cut scroll are of similar timbers as that of the back, indicative of the meticulous nature of the instruments construction.
The fingerboard is a fine dark ebony not painted on as are the nut, saddle and fittings are of a deep dark rosewood for a lighter feel when playing.
The varnish is a golden reddish-gold and slightly worn or antiqued the undercoat is a golden yellow amber huge which sines through and looks wonderful in natural light.
The tone is robust and even across all strings and positions.
