We have received a 1980 Explorer II in excellent playing condition.
Produced for only four years, from 1979 to 1983, the Explorer II is known for its vintage-inspired specifications.
It features a 5-ply maple and walnut body and a 5-ply maple and walnut neck.
The fingerboard is made of ebony, and this guitar has been re-nutted (brass) and re-fretted, with the frets retaining plenty of height.
It is equipped with the original "Dirty Fingers" pickups.
There is a crack in the mounting ring of the bridge pickup.
Another notable feature is the TP-6 tailpiece.
In addition to the nut and frets, the strap pins have also been replaced.
While it shows signs of use commensurate with its age, this is a guitar in excellent playing condition.
