Nice and rare Epiphone Riviera in its Cherry finish with the famous Frequensator tailpiece. This is one of the very first Japanese (Matsumoku) productions, which took over after the discontinuation of the model in the USA. Recognizable by their blue label, these Epiphones were made in very limited numbers between 1971 and 1975 and are highly sought after for their quality craftsmanship.
Given the serial number, it's likely from 1971, but let's be cautious as serial numbers were relatively random during this period, so we'll say between 1971 and 1975.
Maple body and neck, rosewood fretboard, 42.7 mm nut width (not narrow), very comfortable neck profile, Epiphone-branded tuners.
The two original humbucker pickups have a very warm tone, and the electronics respond perfectly.
A unique feature of this guitar is that the 335-style center block is not attached to the maple back. This gives it a significantly deeper, hollow tone, somewhere between a 330 and a 335.
It has just been fully set up, plays beautifully, and comes with a case!
