Few guitars are as iconic or versatile as the Gibson ES-335, and this 2008 ES-335TDC is a superb example of why the model has been a studio and stage staple since its debut in 1958.
Crafted in the Memphis Custom Shop, this semi-hollow thinline features a laminated maple body with a solid maple centre block, striking the perfect balance between resonance and sustain. The body’s light weight (just 3.86kg / 8.5lb) makes it an ideal companion for long gigs or sessions, while the classic cherry finish and gently faded binding add a warm, vintage aesthetic.
The mahogany neck has a comfortable medium-C profile with a depth of 21.39mm at the 1st fret, tapering to 23.3mm at the 12th fret - substantial enough to feel solid, yet slim enough for easy movement. The nut width measures 42.47mm, and the fingerboard widens to 52.45mm at the 12th fret, providing plenty of room for expressive bends and clean chord work. It plays beautifully, with action set low at 0.5mm at the 1st fret and 1.75mm at the 12th, giving it a slick and responsive feel.
This guitar is completely stock, with nickel hardware, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and a pair of Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers delivering everything from warm, woody cleans to biting overdriven tones. It’s equally at home in jazz, blues, rock and beyond.
Cosmetically, it shows honest player wear - a few small marks, some swirling on the pickguard, and one light abrasion on the back of the neck near the 4th fret, though it doesn’t affect playability in any way.
It comes in its original Gibson Custom hard case and includes the Certificate of Authenticity.
A clean, resonant, and highly playable example of one of Gibson’s most enduring designs - this Memphis-made ES-335 is a future classic with soul to spare.
