Personal Thoughts:
The Brian May SJ-200 12-String is one of Gibson’s most impressive recent signature acoustics — a true Super Jumbo with all the chime, power and harmonic richness you’d expect from a 12-string built at the Custom Shop level. The pairing of a Sitka spruce top with highly figured maple back and sides gives this model an enormous dynamic range: shimmering highs, authoritative lows, and a full, orchestral midrange that fills a room effortlessly.

This Signature edition feels exceptionally premium in the hands. The bound neck, ornate inlays, gold hardware and immaculate nitro finish all give it that unmistakable “Custom Shop acoustic” presence. Tonally, it is pure Brian May territory — huge, bright, and inspiring — whether strummed open or tuned to one of his alternative setups.

Finding one as new is rare, especially given they’re produced in limited numbers and aimed at collectors. It’s a centrepiece instrument, no question.
