This Taylor 12-string guitar offers the same comfortable playability and tuning stability as its six-string counterparts. The 355-CE is equipped with a user-friendly neck, making it perfect for both seasoned six-string players and dedicated 12-string guitarists. Its sleek Venetian cutaway allows easy access to the higher frets, and the Expression System pickup enhances every note with genuine warmth and richness.
The Jumbo body offers the deep resonance and increased volume that arise from its larger sound chamber, along with distinctive subtle tones unique to this model. With its commanding presence, the Jumbo is ideally suited for vigorous strumming.
This Taylor presents as near-new and comes completely stock except for one modification. The original saddle has been replaced with a Bob Colosi ivory saddle which helps produce a lovely warm tone. The original saddle is included in the sale.
The top is crafted from Sitka Spruce, a dense and straight-grained wood renowned for having the best strength-to-weight ratio of any tonewood. These properties make Sitka Spruce not only perfect for soundboards but also for internal bracing. A Sitka Spruce top tends to yield a tone that is slightly brighter than that of Engelmann Spruce.
The back and sides are constructed from sapele wood, a material similar to mahogany that has become increasingly popular since Taylor first used it in 1998. Sapele is denser and harder than mahogany, which gives it a crisper, clearer, and brighter sound with a distinct "pop." Known for its loud and robust character and attractive ribboned grain, sapele has long been favoured by Spanish guitar makers.
Perfect for players looking for a durable guitar that offers both excellent sound quality and visual appeal, this Taylor caters well to dynamic playing styles and stands out both in performance and appearance.
