The Audio Distribution Network CU1, a digital discussion central unit, powers and controls up to 40 (depending on cable length) connected delegate and chairperson units. It offers full configuration in a quick and easy way over the menu display in several languages. Alternatively the integrated software package‚ Conference Manager‘ can be used directly on the CU1 by connecting a Screen, Mouse and Keyboard. The intuitive workflow of the conference manager allows a fluent monitoring and control of the conference.
Any kind of media control system can be connected over Ethernet to allow easy control of the ADN system. With its low-noise fan the central unit can be used directly in the meeting without disturbing it.

The ADN CU1 central unit is part of the Sennheiser ADN conference system. The central unit controls the operation of the entire conference system. For wired operation, up to max. 40 ADN D1 delegate units and ADN C1 chairperson units can be directly connected to the central unit. For larger wired conference systems with up to max. 400 conference units, the central unit can also manage up to 15 ADN PS power supplies which in turn supply power the wired conference units.

For wireless conferencing, you can operate up to 150 ADN-W C1 and ADN-W D1 wireless conference units. For this, you require at least one ADN-W AM antenna module per central unit. With one antenna module, you can operate a maximum of 75 wireless conference units. Depending on room conditions, you may require several antenna modules. Please note that you can connect a maximum of four antenna modules to one central unit.

For configuring the conference system, you can either use the central unit's operating menu or the "Conference Manager" software. However, the full functionality of a wireless conference system can only be configured using the "Conference Manager" software. The software also allows you to control and monitor conferences via a graphical interface.

ADN C1 and ADN D1 wired conference units and ADN-W C1 and ADN-W D1 wireless conference units can be combined arbitrarily as long as you ensure correct set-up and cabling and comply with the specifications (a conference system can comprise a total of 400 conference units of which up to 150 can be wireless).

ARCHITECT'S SPECIFICATION:

A central control unit with integrated PC, control software package and digital processor is the hub of a digital discussion system. The central control unit shall supply 52.8 vDC power and control data through a proprietary network bus for controlling up to 40 discussion units.

The integrated control software can be controlled using the intuitive front panel display using multifunction control keys. Alternatively, the software can be accessed by connecting a standard VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse. The integrated software provides support in multiple languages. Full control over media control systems can be accomplished through an industry standard Ethernet network connection.

Fault monitoring and error diagnostics are provided; a full system diagnostics check is executed upon application of power to the unit. The conference manager software shall allow full control over all delegate stations and the audio and conference parameters, e.g. equalizing, conference modes and microphone limit.

The delegate discussion units shall be hot-swappable during the conference. Addressing shall be done automatically by order of cabling; alternatively the addresses shall be assignable manually in the conference manager software. Audio input and output ports are provided as transformer balanced XLR connections.

Audio frequency response shall be 100Hz to 14kHz. Input voltage range shall be -18dBu to +18dBu (XLR In). Maximum output level shall be +10dBV with a signal-to-noise ratio of greater than 80dB A-weighted at +18dBV. Total harmonic distortion shall be less than 0.01% A-weighted at +6dBV In and Out. Power consumption shall be 245W; operating temperature shall be +5°C to +50°C. The central control unit shall be housed in a stand-alone desktop housing; rack mounting shall be accomplished using optional rack mounting brackets.
