Starting out as a 1970 Marshall JMP-50 with laydown PT, Larry completely rebuilt this thing from a ground up in his usual meticulous style.
3-channels of pure tube driven heaven. Channel 1 is the best Marshall clean channel you could with for with an "edge of breakup" tone starting with both volume controls set around noon. There's two gain channels with similar voicing that can be stacked to go from gritty blues to ultimate high-gain trash metal hell.
Double tonestack for ultimate flexibility and extra gain toggle switch for a bit more low-end grind.
Built around the same time as the Metallica amp, sharing a lot of common ground in circuitry and esthetics, but in a more manageable 50W format.
Electrolytics in the power supply have been replaced with F&T's a couple of years ago, as it was still running on its original set from 1970! Pots have been cleaned and lubed with Caig Deoxit F5.
Everything is working perfectly!
Housed in a mid '90's Marshall JMP small-box cabinet.
