Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting…
A really cool and unique, Parlor Guitar. Built by Harmony in 1936. Unusual to see a F Hole Parlor. This guitar is unbranded but would have been sold as a Harmony or Supertone. We are sure of the date as it has the Harmony Date stamp of S-36 signifying a Spring of 1936 Guitar. The other number must a model number. See pic 5. Really nice example of a Prewar guitar built by Harmony!
Its all original to include the awesome Black button Tuners, Wood nut, Bridge,Tailpiece and even the awesome Bakalite Pickguard that still in perfect condition! I really like the fancy fret markers!
This guitar appears to be Mahogany. The frets are in great shape and the guitar plays really well. We spent a bunch of dough on this guitar to get it in this condition. We did a complete neck reset, reglued all the braces as the back was off and then reglued the back. Our Luthier did a great job with this guitar and it looks, plays and sounds great!
The guitar is considered a F Hole Parlor. Its 13 inches wide at the widest bout and 36 inches long. The nut measures 1 ¾ inches. The neck has a 24 inch scale. These guitar weigh very little and make a great travel or camping guitar. They were built like tanks as you still see them being used today….Some 90 years later!!
The guitar has no cracks or maladies to report. No loose sides or back needed any attention. Some small parts of finish is worn off and it or course has some dings and scratches. All superficial things… This guitar is in excellent shape now!
Check out that awesome original Soft Shell Case we got it in. All latches, hinges, original handle and even the accessory box are still with it. An excellent case for your cool Pre-War Vintage Parlor Guitar!
