Poetically named 5/168-54gl, this Framus is one of the closest things to a stratocaster you could find at the time in Europe. It is a high-end model from the brand which is all the more visible with the gold hardware. It also has a spring volume allowing a swell effect that was very popular in those years. The instrument is in good condition and easy to play. The base of the neck appears to have been reworked. I don’t think the neck was broken, especially in a perfectly perpendicular manner to the grain of the plywood, but it’s a heel that I had never seen on a Framus. So I think it has been reworked, perhaps partially re-glued following a separation of the extremity. Anyway, it’s absolutely stable. It’s an inspiring guitar, with a thin neck and very easy to play. The finish is in good condition. The body is made of a pretty flamed maple, well highlighted by a really well executed sunburst. Comes in a gig bag and will be pro packed for shipping if needed.
