Why you may ask ? It has a TS-808 like circuit ( a Texas Instrument RC4558P op amp ) and can be used separately with internal speaker or can be connected to a amplifier.

When in use with an adapter make sure to have a negative ground, positive tip.
For instance a Boss PSA Adapter has a positive ground and negative tip.
When in use with battery's make sure to have 2 fully loaded 9 Volt battery's.
