Vintage Greco Blubber Crying Machine Wah rare early 70s

Up for sale a very cool wah pedal brande by Greco, and most likely made by Maxon in Japan in the early 70s. Very soon after the wah pedals became popular in Europe and italian production went full scale, Japan followed. Starting in early 70s there are several examples of Maxon, Greco, Guyatone wah pedals which in all cases were made to a high quality standard as all other pedals from the era.

This is another example of how Maxon was leading standards in the 70s and 80s - fantastic sound, built like a tank. Sounds great and bit more aggresive than your typical vintage wah like Vox or Jen - not sure if that's due to different bias on transistors, hotter inductor (vintage standard was 500mH, the TDK inductors in Maxon and Greco are noted 620). One way or another it's got a different sound that fits lovely both in some lead work and when working on your funk chops.

What makes this quite special is both the fact it's early production which you can see by the simplistic design vs any Maxon Blubber wah and by being branded as Greco. Dating by the pot it's a '72.

Condition wise it's fully working, just missing one of the rubber feet - I'll try to arrange a replacement.

It can be powered with 9v battery only.
