The Kingfisher - High Bird custom cigar box guitar

Here's the (magic) King Fisher. A one of a kind handmade cigarbox style guitar. Completed in a bit over a month of full time hard work and long hours. A good example of something so special that it's almost too hard to sell. Details down below.

It's full of skatemaple (colorful recycled skateboards), rosewood, aluminum and metal. Has a handpainted design on the front and back and orange LED's on the inside that are operated with a switch. It's a magic switch that can be used when your playing could use that little extra bit of mojo. 😉There are 3 springs connected to each other in the inside for extra resonance. The blue and orange in the design give it it's name, named after those beautiful vibrant blue kingfisher birds. The handmade metal and aluminum details really add to the looks of this instrument.

The body is a vintage sewing box made from beech. The box can still be opened to access the electronics, and possibly to store something in it. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. It has a 25.5" scale with 24 all easy accessible frets. There's a blue skatemaple line through the fretboard and orange on the sides. It has unique inlay design, line inlays (solder) that are connected to aluminum dots filled with orange and blue skatedust. (also in a detail on the back of the headstock) Aluminum skate-dust sidedots to find your way on the neck. It has a bone nut, and height adjustable bridge made from rosewood and skatemaple. The bridge is set on good action but can be increased in height for slide playing. The tailpiece is made from a beautiful old spatula, its reinforced and has rosewood underneath, I believe it might be silver. To electrify it it has a humbucker that I've modified and potted, and a rosewood pickup ring with inlays. It has volume and tone control with custom knobs made from skatemaple and aluminium, they are hold in place with set screws. There's an aluminium plate under the knobs. A skatemaple jackplate on the side, placed there so you can put the guitar straight up from the ground without having to unplug, and it's less stressful on the cable. There is a nicely shaped metal pickguard on the front to protect from heavy strumming. Engraved aluminum brandtag and woodburned signature on the headstock. The soundhole is there to let the magic out, it should not be trapped. It really adds to the unique character of the instrument. The soundhole is fenced with metal so it wont break. For more comfort and character there's a mahogany legsupport on the side, and a handle on the other side. Chrome quality tuners. Chrome strap buttons. And rounded over metal box corners that I've aged a bit and finished with lacquer. The pictures give the best impression what this thing is like. This guitar comes with a free wooden ring made from the same wood as the guitar. When I know the ring size of the buyer I will make it and ship it along with the guitar.
