Restored Crate 1RD with original footswitch and splitter.

For the collector or someone in need of an amazing vintage combo for their vintage guitar.

This is the first generation and the very first high gain amp from Crate. There were two versions of it.. the C1-D and the 1R-D.

The main difference is the footswitchable reverb tank on the 1R-D which is the deluxe model of the two.

This is the first and only 1R-D that I've seen.. EVER. I got extremely lucky and won it at an auction. These were expensive when launched, msrp on them was well over 300$ back in 1978. With that being said, and the stigma of abuse crate amps took throughout the 80s, there may only be a few left in existence.

It needed restored but not that much. I was able to take this restoration to a very high level and I couldn't be happier with it.

The main board was cleaned, pots flushed, inputs and outputs flushed, capacitors inspected. Tested extensively, zero issues.

A new ground plug was added to the original power cord. The spring in the handle housing was eliminated and anti-vibration material was added. All hardware was stripped and polished. The dust cap was dented so it was replaced with a brand new aluminum cap, the amp was sanded, stained and given 2 coats of minwax to prevent aging and moisture damage.
