Headway's Sakura guitar celebrates its 10th anniversary
Our guitars made from cherry wood began with a single ukulele made in 2014. Headway continues to work with this wood, which has a different quality and sound than conventional imported materials, using its years of guitar-making knowledge and skills. This year, we have finally reached the milestone of our 10th anniversary, and we have completed a special model with the hope of making further progress and spreading our wings around the world.
Twilight Yozakura Gradation
Adopts "Twilight Yozakura Gradation" inspired by the setting sky at dusk and the color of cherry blossoms. The coloring of purple and cherry blossoms exquisitely expresses the pale sky while looking at the cherry blossoms.
Design commemorating the 10th anniversary
“Tsuru” motif engraved on the head
We designed an inlay of a ``crane'' on the head, which is a symbol of good fortune, to express our feelings for the Sakura guitar, which has celebrated its 10th anniversary with the support of many users. The crane also has the aspect of being a migratory bird, and our hope is that it will become a guitar that is loved not only in Japan but also across borders and all over the world.
Blooming cherry blossom inlay and purple heart pickguard
As one of the symbolic elements of the cherry blossom model, the cherry blossom inlay on the fingerboard is skillfully expressed using acrylic and wood. In addition, Purple Heart, which has a purple wood color, was used for the pickguard.
Body made from domestic wood, Yamazakura
Wild cherry blossoms collected in Japan are used as the side and back material. Although it has a very hard characteristic and has a peak in the low-mid range, it produces a sweet sound unique to cherry wood. The center line of the body is decorated with the same purple heart as the pickguard material.
Anniversary logo commemorating the 10th anniversary
The back of the head is engraved with an anniversary logo limited to the 10th anniversary model, inspired by the ``woman with a Japanese umbrella'' that symbolizes Headway's cherry blossom model.
34 Semi-forward shifted bracing
Headway master builder Yasuo Momose researched the bracing of a vintage guitar made in 1934 and inherited the bracing that he developed independently. Semi-forward shift where the X cross position is close to the sound hole, resulting in better bass response and a more voluminous rumble than when new. The design takes into consideration the stability of the top plate by moving the bridge about 5mm closer than the forward shift.
