Status SERIES II 1992 - John Payne, ASIA. PADUK, WALNUT and CHERRY.

This incredible 1991 Status ii four string bass was purchased new from Rob Green of The Status bass company in 1991. It has been owned by John Payne ever since. During his time as the bassist, vocalist front man in the band ASIA from 1992 to 2006 it was his exclusive bass.

Performed on stage for all world tours from 1992 to 2006 it was also the bass used on the ASIA albums, AQUA, ARIA, ARENA, AURA, ARCHIVA and SILENT NATION. It is featured on the live ASIA DVD, AMERICANA and can be seen in countless videos and photoshoots.

It is 100% UNMODIFIED from factory. It features stunning hardwoods, PADUK, WALNUT and CHERRY. The neck is as usual made of carbon fibre and goes through body. The electric are active.

There is a missing plastic battery plate (a new one has been ordered). There also a missing cap on one of the tuning pegs and again a new one has been ordered. There are a few dings in the laquer but that adds to the guitar patina as a players road bass. It is 100% operational. The sound is incredible, the neck action is low and never moves, the frets being stainless steel are like new.

This is a historic bass being used for the whole time of Payne's tenure in the band ASIA. This is the ASIA bass from 1992 to 2006 and is the first time that this beauty has been offered for sale. More pics to come.
